1. Coco Comes in Different Textures
You’ll encounter coco in pith, fibre, chips, or preshaped bricks. Pith is super absorbent and feels like peat. Fibre gives great aeration but breaks down faster (we recommend using Zenzym® occasionally to refresh the medium). Chips offer a balance of both. Bricks save space—they expand to 9× their size with water.
2. Prep Matters: Break Clumps & Work the Media
If you use bricks or dense chunks, take a moment to break them up. That opens oxygen pathways and ensures roots aren’t choking on clumps.
3. Check for Buffering & Salt
